1960 Porsche 356 B (Gaswerks Garage Racecar)

At Gaswerks Garage, we present this 1960 Porsche
356B race car, finished in Porsche Silver Metallic. A purpose-built vintage racer with extensive VSCCA history, developed through a long-term restoration program. The interior features a leather-wrapped Momo steering wheel with green stitching and an onboard race timing transponder system.

Originally campaigned within the Vintage Sports Car Club of America, the car required full restoration upon acquisition, including acid-dipped bare-metal refinement and complete mechanical rebuild. It was then continuously developed over multiple seasons of competition into a sorted and reliable race platform.

The car has competed in Mount Equinox Hillclimb, VSCCA events including Empire Cup, White Mountain Vintage Grand Prix, Spring Sprints, and Fall Finale, as well as the Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix, Thompson Vintage Motor Festival, and Lime Rock Historics.

Prepared for vintage competition, the car features disc brakes, a full welded roll cage, race seat, current safety belts, and a fully rebuilt suspension with adjustable shocks, upgraded torsion bars,
reinforced control arms, adjustable sway bar, and updated bushings. A later ZF steering box improves precision. Wheels have been restored and fitted with new tires, with a dedicated
race alignment.

Power comes from a freshly built 1750cc big bore engine with zero hours, configured for VSCCA and Vintage Racing Group eligibility. Supporting systems include an external oil cooler, full-flow filtration, 12-volt electrical system, new wiring harness, and updated gauges.

The body retains its original single-grille configuration, modified with rear decklid louvers, R-style hinges, and a lightweight quick-release system. Additional details include leather hood straps and H4 headlights with French lenses.
