This 1976 BMW 2002 underwent a multi-year refurbishment in Laguna Seca Blue over black while with its current owner’s husband, a BMW dealer technician who passed away in 2018. Power is from a 2.0-liter inline-four paired with a five-speed manual transmission, and additional modifications include Bilstein dampers, front and rear sway bars, 15″ BBS RA basketweave wheels, an air dam with fog lights, driving lamps, Recaro seats, an aftermarket stereo, and more. This 2002 is offered by the seller on behalf of its current owner with build receipts and an Oregon reconstructed title in the owner’s name. The body has been repainted in BMW Laguna Seca Blue, and the condition of the finish can be seen up close in the gallery below. The Motorsport-themed hood stripes have been removed. Features include a front air dam with fog lights, an extra set of driving lamps, a Touring grille badge, filled front bumper mounting holes, a backdated rear bumper, and square taillights. Volkswagen-sourced 15″ BBS RA basketweave wheels feature powder-coated centers and polished rims and wear Kumho Ecsta tires sized 195/50 all around. Suspension modifications include front and rear sway bars as well as Bilstein shocks and struts, while braking is from front discs with red calipers and rear drums. The cabin is trimmed in black with later-model Recaro leather front and rear seats with blue piping. Additional features include salt-and-pepper carpets, a Momo steering wheel, an aftermarket stereo and shift knob, and a folding center armrest and headrests in the E30-sourced rear seat. The crank-operated sunroof does not fully open. VDO gauges have been fitted with white crosshair faces as well as chrome trim, and include a five-digit odometer showing just under 49k miles. Total mileage is unknown. The replacement 2.0-liter M10 inline-four rebuilt and features a single downdraft carburetor under a factory air cleaner. An aluminum radiator replaces the stock version. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a five-speed manual transmission in place of the stock four-speed.
