Through their collaboration, the Porsche 914 was born. The 914 was available in two configurations, the standard 914 with VW 4-cylinder air cooled engine, or the 914-6 with a 911 flat six engine. 1964 SHELBY COBRA CSX2210 - A205P
Of all the great 1960s sports cars, few have been as influential as the Shelby Cobra. Le
Mans-winning driver Carroll Shelby reasoned that Ford’s new lightweight V-8 would make a
promising powerplant for a sporting chassis, so he fitted the new engine to an AC Ace. The
result, the Cobra, combined California hot rod know-how with European chassis dynamics. In
competition trim, Cobras achieved an impressive record, and were a major force in Ford’s
dominance of international sports car racing in the 1960s.
Gaswerks Garage is pleased to offer this stunning 1964 289 Shelby Cobra. As
documented by the Shelby Registry, as well as a copy of the factory invoice, this 289 Cobra,
chassis CSX2210, was shipped from AC to Los Angeles aboard the SS Pacific Fortune on
November 14, 1963. The Cobra stayed at Shelby American’s facility in Los Angeles, where it
may have been used as a factory demonstrator, before being sold to dealer Joe Brown Ford in
Louisville, Kentucky, on May 15, 1964. Originally finished in red with a black interior, it was
equipped with “Class A” accessories, which included chrome wheels and a radio with antenna.
By March 1965, the Cobra had been purchased by Louisville resident John M.
Winemiller, who started enjoying the car immediately by competing in local autocrosses. Mr.
Winemiller became acquainted with notable Cobra racer Don Roberts, who had purchased a
number of surplus XE-specification racing engines from Carroll Shelby and Lew Spencer’s
Hi-Performance Motors after the shop’s closing in 1967. These engines featured a special block
casting with four-bolt main bearing caps and a windage tray, and were developed by Ford for
use in GT40s and endurance-racing sedans. Roberts reportedly rebuilt one of these extremely
rare engines for CSX2210 and installed it with a GT40-style intake and Weber carburetors, the
setup that remains in the car to this day. The Shelby would go to Mr. Winemiller’s son Jake after
his father’s passing in the early 1970s.
By 1983, Harry Campbell of Grain Valley, Missouri, had bought the Cobra from Jake
Winemiller. In 1985, Mr. Campbell delivered the Shelby to esteemed Cobra restoration expert
Bill Murray of Longmont, Colorado. As documented by accompanying receipts and photos,
CSX2210 was given a ground-up, no-expense spared restoration to cut-back-door, FIA
specification. The original bodywork was repaired as necessary, while FIA fender flares and a
hood scoop were fabricated and installed. The suspension was re-bushed, the engine rebuilt,
and the finished car painted Dark Blue with traditional white racing stripes. This beautiful work
still presents extremely well today, a testament to the care taken at the time by Murray.
The Cobra has been selectively upgraded over time to fit the intended use and tastes of
its fastidious caretakers, the two families who cherished the car for over 50 years. Now,
tastefully presented with its desirable FIA-specification bodywork and extremely rare
competition-derived engine, this Cobra stands out among its peers with its unique substance
Enthusiasm for the Shelby Cobra continues unabated today and is a testament to the
alluring qualities bestowed upon it by Shelby American. This is an incredibly rare opportunity to
own one of the most legendary cars ever produced. Please contact Gaswerks Garage for

Gaswerks Garage is pleased to offer this incredibly beautiful 1968 Florida Green BMW 1600!
This car was what started the craze of a small and sporty german sedan. It soon led to the
production of the famous 2002 which was the car that saved BMW.
This 1600 is a true survivor, with only 43,000 miles since new, it really is a true time
capsule. The engine bay is like new - not a drop of oil can be found - clean is an
understatement. The team at Gaswerks recently had the engine out for work and fully detailed
the engine bay at the same time, the results are amazing as you can see in the photos. The car
is powered by a 1600cc 4 cylinder engine mated to a 4 speed Getrag gearbox. The car is an
absolute blast to drive. The reason the 1600/2002 were so popular was because of the way they
handled. They used independent front and rear suspension unlike cars of the same era that
used a solid rear axle. The independent suspension allowed the car to drive like a go kart with
incredible response and handling.
The interior of the car is spotless. The dashboard is crack free, the interior has no rips,
stains or scuffs. The dark brown upholstery looks fantastic against the Florida Green paint and
really makes this the ultimate summer driver. Don’t wait! You won’t find another one! Call

2002 BMW Z8 ROADSTER - A185P
Gaswerks Garage is pleased to offer this incredibly beautiful 2002 BMW Z8 Roadster! The BMW Z8 is a roadster produced by German automotive manufacturer BMW from 2000 to 2003. The Z8 Roadster had an all-aluminum chassis and body and used a 4,941 cc (4.9 L; 301.5 cu in) V8 engine which has a power output of 395 hp at 6,600 rpm and 369 lb./ft of torque at 3,800 rpm. This engine, known internally as the S62, was built by BMW Motorsport and was shared with the E39 M5 sports saloon. The engine is located behind the front axle in order to provide the car with a 50/50 weight distribution. The factory claimed a 0–62 mph acceleration time of 4.7 seconds; Motor Trend magazine achieved 0–60 mph in 4.2 seconds. Road and Track measured the car's lateral grip at 0.92. Car and Driver magazine also tested the car and found that it outperformed the contemporary benchmark Ferrari 360 Modena in three important performance categories: acceleration, handling, and braking. As with most BMW automobiles the top speed of the Z8 was electronically limited to 155.4 mph with the delimited top speed amounting to an estimated 180 mph!!
The Z8 used neon exterior lighting, the tail lights and turn indicators are powered by neon tubes that offer quicker activation than standard lightbulbs and are expected to last for the life of the vehicle.
Every car was shipped with a color-matching metal hardtop with a rear defroster. Unlike many contemporary hardtops, which are provided for practical rather than stylistic considerations, the hardtop of the Z8 was designed from the outset to complement the lines of the car's styling.
In order to keep the interior uncluttered, several functions were integrated into multifunction controls. For example, the power windows and mirrors were controlled by a single instrument. Also, the center-mounted instrument cluster was canted slightly toward the driver. The displacement of gauges to the middle of the dash board was intended to offer an unimpeded view of the hood and the road ahead.

SCCA E-Production Log Book 1972 - 1978
Numerous race events supported by log book
The "Type 356" was the first sports car to bear the Porsche name on it. Ferry Porsche designed and produced Project 356 to be a lightweight car with an engine that produced enough horsepower to be a fun car to drive. The 356A (c.1955) started existence with a 1.3-liter engine and 50 horsepower. Throughout its first decade of production until 1965, the 356 came with a variety of engines up to 2.0-liter and in race versions the coveted 4-cam engines which Porsche felt should not be sold to the public due to their complexity. The 356 for the most part had four distinct build variations the Pre-356A (1948-1955), 356A (1955-1959), 356B (1959-1963) and finally the 356C (1963-1965). The 356 build variants included a coupe, cabriolet, notchback and speedster, all of which had variants within each model from mild to wild.
Our 1960 Porsche 356 Roadster Chassis # 88716 was built by long time Porsche enthusiast and racer Peter Callaghan. Callaghan had a long history of racing Porsche cars in the 1960's and 70's from 356 and 914 E-Production to 911 B-Production cars. According to the CoA the car was originally Ruby Red (6002) with light grey leatherette, but as with all of Callaghan's Red Dog race cars it was quickly painted dark blue. Chassis # 88716 was raced in the SCCA E Production class at great venues like Lime Rock Park, Bryar National, Pocono, Thompson, Bridge Hampton, Nelson Ledges, Summit Point and Road Atlanta. Callahan set this car up to be his after the race car to have around the race tracks. This car has a high performance flat 4 cylinder Porsche air cooled engine, a 4 speed manual gearbox, roll hoop and Penske Racing Shocks. Chassis # 88716 also has a very unique transmission configuration of 1st 3.09:1, 2nd 1.93. 3rd 1.35 and 4th 1.04. This gearbox configuration was only in Porsche 356 GS/GT cars, an interesting choice by Callaghan. The Roadster lives up to its name providing a whole lot of open air fun, quick acceleration and extremely racecar like handling. The Chassis # states this car is a Roadster built in 1960. This 356 provides the visceral drive we all crave from grassroots motorsports based cars.

1992 PORSCHE 911 AMERICA ROADSTER - A127P
The Porsche 964 was Designed by Benjamin Dimson in January 1986, it featured significant styling revisions over previous 911 models, most prominently the more integrated bumpers. It had added styling queues and features such as a power rear spoiler. It was the first car to be offered with Porsche's optional Tiptronic automatic transmission and all wheel drive as options. Like the 356 America Roadster it was named after, the Type 964 America Roadster was a limited-edition, driver-focused convertible destined for the American market.
Gaswerks Garage is pleased to offer this stunning 1992 Guards Red 964 Roadster with only 32,000 miles since new. Featuring a 247HP 3.6L air cooled flat six, the same engine used in the standard 964. Our team of Porsches experts have looked over this car from top to bottom and the car checked out with flying colors. A service was completed as well to ensure the car is turn key and ready to be enjoyed.
Inside the car you will see the beautiful black leather interior that has no rips, tears or stains and is in “like-new” condition. There is no wear on the bolsters which is a common occurrence on the 964. The convertible top, dash and carpet are absolutely perfect as well. On the 964 Roadster, the small rear seats were replaced with a parcel shelf with storage compartments underneath, adding to the sporting nature of the car.
The prominent differences of the 964 Roadster are the wide fender flares, suspension, brakes, and 17-inch Porsche Cup wheels of the 911 Turbo. The wide Turbo-style body and lack of a rear spoiler gives the America Roadster an aggressive look.
This 1992 Guards Red 964 Roadster is the 911 you have been waiting for to add to your collection.

1995 BMW M3 LIGHTWEIGHT "M3 CSL" - A161P
Beginning with the first E36 M3s delivered, BMW racers began pressuring BMW for a homologation version with which to compete against Porsche 911s in sports-car racing. A homologation version is a car with special modifications from the factory that are allowed in racing as "production" cars, if enough cars are made and sold. In 1995, BMW relented and offered the E36 M3 Lightweight.
Gaswerks Garage is proud to offer this stunning, original paint E36 M3 Lightweight. Unlike a regular E36 M3 lightweight, this E36 M3 features a powerful and rare Group N/GT Engine rending this possibly one of the best examples of an E36 M3 lightweight. Owned previously by BMWCCA members and Factory Race Drivers, this car has been carefully owned and never abused. Unlike a regular E36 M3, The major changes to the car were to lower the weight for racing. The cars came without a radio (although the speakers were installed and the car pre-wired for the radio), air conditioning, leather seats, tool kit, or a sunroof. The doors have aluminum skins. There is no underbonnet insulation blanket and the trunk only has carpet on the floor. Overall the changes added up to 200 lb (91 kg) less than a standard M3.
This car drives absolutely wonderfully, it is in part due to being fitted with the shorter springs from the European M3. The car produced 287 RWHP on a dyno, a very great figure for a naturally aspirated straight six. The engine makes no strange noises or rattles and absolutely sings in the higher RPMs. Power is delivery through a 5 speed gearbox that shifts smoothly and without hesitation.
The interior is immaculate with no stains or rips, and has been fitted with a period correct BMW radio which makes road trips or sunday drives even more enjoyable when you’re not listening to the Group N exhaust. The seats, headliner, dash and carpet are all in “like-new” condition.
The engine bay is spotless, no drips, stains or oil can be found inside. The straight-six engine looks as if it was just installed yesterday. The conversion was done by TC Kline in Columbus, Ohio. TC Kline is known for their BMW racing experience. Own a piece of BMW racing history. With only 125 cars built and only 116 cars sold to the public, this is an incredibly rare opportunity to own one of the most legendary M3s ever produced.

1969 MERCEDES-BENZ 280SL ROADSTER- A163P
The Mercedes-Benz W 113 is a two-seat roadster/coupé, introduced at the 1963 Geneva Motor Show, and produced from 1963 through 1971. It replaced both the legendary 300 SL and the 190 SL. Of the 48,912 W 113 SLs produced, 19,440 were sold in the US. The W 113 SL was developed under the auspices of Mercedes-Benz Technical Director Fritz Nallinger, Chief Engineer Rudolf Uhlenhaut and Head of Styling Friedrich Geiger. The lead designers were Paul Bracq and Béla Barényi, who created its distinctive, patented, slightly concave hardtop, which inspired the "Pagoda" nickname.
All models were equipped with an inline-six cylinder engine and multi-port fuel injection. The bonnet, trunk lid, door skins and tonneau cover were made of aluminum to reduce overall weight. The comparatively short and wide chassis, combined with an excellent suspension, powerful brakes and radial tires gave the W 113 superb handling for its time. The styling of the front, with its characteristic upright Bosch "fishbowl" headlights and simple chrome grille, dominated by the large three-pointed star in the nose panel, paid homage to the then already legendary 300 SL roadster.
Gaswerks Garage is pleased to offer this highly desirable 1969 280SL soft top (delete hard top) convertible, finished in Ivory over Black. Well cared for during its entire life, this car still retains its “headlight notches” which symbolize that the car has the original front fenders, a very desirable feature in a historic 280SL. This is a rare find with no soft top bow and frame mechanism, but retains the hinged cover and "top well". This garage kept, two owner car has been loved and it shows.
The interior is in amazing condition. There is no rust on the car and the engine bay is exceptionally clean. The engine is numbers matching to the car which is a huge plus as well. The 2.8L straight six runs well but the best part is that it is mated to a manual gearbox, another extremely rare feature for a 280SL. This gearbox adds a whole different caliber to the car; it takes the car from a Sunday Cruiser to a Sunday Sports Car. You will be smiling as you shift through the gears in this very rare 1969 280SL. Take a drive to Newport or The Hamptons and you will know you picked the perfect car. Mercedes-Benz products are known for their reliability and safety, even in a vintage car. The car still retains the original Becker radio, spare tire, jack and hard top. This car is a true time capsule and ready to be enjoyed by a new owner - YOU!
